Fig. 3. Farnesylated, but not unprenylated, RhoA(63L) retains potent focus-forming activity. NIH 3T3 cells were cotransfected with pZIP-NeoSV(x)1 expression plasmids encoding the indicated RhoA(63L) proteins, either together with the empty pZIP-NeoSV(x)1 vector (-) or with pZIP-raf(340D) (1 µg/60-mm dish). Seventeen to 21 days after transfection, the number of foci of transformed cells was quantified. Data points are the means of three independent measurements; bars, SE. Data are representative of three independent assays.
